Wilson, N.C.—Yomi Adeyeye delivered 10 kills, and Elizabeth James added seven kills and 23 assists, but it was not enough for the reeling Crusaders who fell to 1-10 on the season after a 3-1 loss to Barton College on Saturday afternoon in North Carolina.

The Crusaders looked to take an early advantage in game one, taking a 24-20 advantage over the Bulldogs. Barton charged late however, and scored the last six points of the game to take a 26-24 win. The Crusaders rebounded in the second frame to even the set tally at 1-1. The set was once again close, but the Crusaders a 24-23 advantage, this time however the Crusaders would put the game away with a Haley Hester service ace.

Barton would go on to take the final two sets of the day, with a dominating 25-11 set two win, and a 25-17 triumph, giving the Bulldogs their second Conference Carolinas win of the season. North Greenville falls to 0-2 in league play. The Crusaders hit at a .121 clip for the day, as Barton cruised with a .236 percentage. NGU was led at the net once again by Gabby Sehres who tallied three block assists. Elizabeth James led the Crusaders with 13 digs while Codiann Amis collected 10. Somer Cagle also had a strong day for the Crusaders with 9 kills.

The game against Barton wrapped up an eight game road trip for the Crusaders who finally return home on Wednesday for a game a conference clash with Limestone College.
