North Greenville suffered its first loss of the season with a final score of 3-1 to the Bobcats of Georgia College. The Crusaders gave up two goals in the first half while both teams scored one goal each in the second half. Megan Biehl posted her fourth goal of the season while Brianna Rowe collected five saves.
Things did not start off well for the Crusaders as the Bobcats scored their first goal less than two minutes into the match. Around the 20 minute mark, GC went up by two when Cassie Balzano added a goal. NGU was unable to get much going offensively as the first half would end without a shot being recorded.
Georgia College made quick work to begin the second half as well when Alyssa Bergamini scored her second goal of the match as well as the season. Just over twenty minutes into the second half, Megan Biehl was able to put NGU on the board with an assist by Sarah Hazelwood. The offense would come to life for the Crusaders as they would record four of the final five shots of the match. However, no additional goals would be scored.
North Greenville will return to conference play this weekend to take on the Barton Bulldogs in Tigerville in Saturday, September 21st.
