Tigerville, SC – The North Greenville Trailblazers fell to the Belmont Abbey Crusaders in a four-set match this evening at Hayes Gymnasium.
North Greenville came out strong in the opening set, edging Belmont Abbey 25-23 behind efficient hitting and solid defensive play. However, the Crusaders responded in the second set, pulling away late for a 25-19 win to even the match. Belmont Abbey carried that momentum into the third set, taking control with a 25-18 victory before closing out the match in the fourth with another 25-19 win. NGU led the night in blocks, but Belmont Abbey finished the match leading in the remaining categories.
The Trailblazers finished with 34 kills and a .110 hitting percentage while totaling 33 assists and 36 digs.
Logan Keothavy led North Greenville with 9 kills, while Yoriano Velez Vega and Thomas Roper each added 8 kills. Landon Richter contributed 4 kills and was active at the net with 5 block assists, and Jacob Koch added 2 kills with 3 total blocks. Andrew Copp directed the offense with 29 assists and added 4 digs in the match.
