Greenville, SC – On a historic night at Fluor Field, the North Greenville Trailblazers erupted offensively to defeat Anderson with a final score of 16-3 this evening at Fluor Field. After falling behind early, NGU used a massive fourth inning to take control and never looked back.
Anderson struck first with two runs in the 2nd inning and added another in the 3rd to take a 3-0 lead. However, the Trailblazers responded in a big way in the 4th, plating nine runs on seven hits. The inning was highlighted by RBI hits from Connor McKee and Mason Swinney, a two-RBI triple by Josh Foulks, and a two-run home run by Lane McGaha to give NGU a commanding 9-3 advantage.
North Greenville continued to add on late, scoring four runs in the 8th inning behind a three-run home run by Foulks to complete the cycle and a solo home run by McGaha. The Trailblazers capped off the scoring in the 9th with a three-run home run by Cooper Noble to seal the 16-3 victory.
Josh Foulks led the offense with 4 hits including a home run and a triple while driving in 5 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. Lane McGaha also had a standout performance, going 4-for-5 with 2 home runs, 3 RBIs, and 3 runs scored. Cooper Noble added a home run and finished with 3 RBIs, while C.J. Dean contributed 3 hits in the win.
On the mound, Brady Price earned the victory with 2.0 innings of relief, allowing 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 2. North Greenville's pitching staff combined to limit Anderson to just 3 runs on 9 hits while striking out 9 in the game.
Josh Foulks' journey to completing the straight cycle began with a single in the 1st inning. That was followed by a double in the 4th and a triple later in the inning. He capped it off with a three-run home run in the 8th inning.
NGU will return to action on Friday, April 10th against the Braves of UNC Pembroke in Pembroke, North Carolina.
