The North Greenville Trailblazers split a doubleheader with Emory & Henry this afternoon, falling in game one 9-5 before bouncing back in dominant fashion with a 16-8 victory in game two.

Game one saw Emory & Henry take control early, scoring four runs in the 2nd inning and adding to the lead throughout the middle innings. North Greenville got on the board with a solo home run by Haylee Whitesides in the 2nd and later mounted a comeback attempt in the 6th with four runs, highlighted by a two-RBI double from Ansley Fowler and RBI hits from Whitesides and Jordan Slocum. However, the Wasps answered with a run in the bottom half of the inning and held off NGU the rest of the way to secure the 9-5 win.

The Trailblazers responded in a big way in game two, erupting for 16 runs on 14 hits. NGU struck early with three runs in the 1st inning on a three-RBI single by Lexie Metcalf and continued to pile on throughout the game. Sydney Price homered twice and drove in four runs, while Haylee Whitesides added a home run and four RBIs of her own. North Greenville broke the game open in the 5th inning with eight runs, highlighted by Whitesides' grand slam and another two-run homer by Price.

Sydney Price led the way offensively across the doubleheader with 2 hits and 4 RBIs in game two, while Haylee Whitesides recorded 3 hits and 6 RBIs on the day including two home runs. Ansley Fowler added 2 hits and 2 RBIs, and Lexie Metcalf contributed 3 hits and 3 RBIs in the second game.

In the circle, Haylee Whitesides earned the game two victory, pitching a complete game while allowing 8 runs on 11 hits.

North Greenville will return to action on Tuesday, April 7th against the Crusaders of Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina.
