Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers returned to action this evening at Hayes Gymnasium, but ultimately fell to the Trojans of the University of Mount Olive with a final score of 3-1. Things got off to a solid start for the Trailblazers as they would take the opening set 25-23. However, the Trojans took over the match from there, going on to comfortable win set two with a score of 25-17 and also took the third set without much of an issue with the score 25-18. Set four was a competitive one as North Greenville controlled things early on. However, the momentum would swing back to Mount Olive before the two teams remained within striking distance for the remainder of the set. Down by four, NGU scored three of the final five points, but it wouldn't be enough as the Trojans would secure the win with a score of 25-22. Blocks did not come at a premium as both teams reached double digit blocks with NGU edging Mount Olive 12-10. However, Mount Olive did lead the way in kills, service aces, assists, and digs.
Yoriano Velez Vega put together a solid evening with 15 kills, 4 block assises, and a service ace.
Thomas Roper posted 11 kills and 10 digs for a double-double in addition to 2 block assists, a service ace, and an assist.
Logan Keothavy recorded 10 kills, 4 block assists, and 3 digs.
North Greenville will take on the Barton Bulldogs tomorrow at Hayes Gymnasium.
