Tigerville – Offense was no issue on Wednesday as the Trailblazers scored 38 – runs in two games earning wins of 23 – 1 and 15 – 0 over Johnson C. Smith University at Jan McDonald Field.
The Trailblazers set a program record for runs in an inning during game one, plating 20 – runs in the first frame. North Greenville recycled the line-up multiple times during the 20 – run outburst. Six different players recorded hits including four extra base hits.
Karley Green and Lexi Metcalf delivered a pair of run – scoring triples to help the process.
Robyn Craig delivered her first career RBI in the third inning along with
Dacey Phillips who got her first collegiate hit and RBI. Alli Royer's first hit at the college level also delivered an RBI to extend the lead to 23. The Bulls picked up a run in the final inning on an RBI double.
14 – different players collected hits in game one.
Karley Green led the charge going 3 – 4 with three RBI. Haylee Whiteside was 3 – 3 with three runs and two RBI.
Ansley Fowler was also 3 – 3 with two runs and two RBI. Also going 3 – 3 was
Lexie Metcalf with two RBI and two runs. Green got the win in the circle throwing three innings of scoreless softball.
The Trailblazers strung out 15 – runs over three different innings in game two, jumping out to a seven-run lead after one.
Madison House delivered an RBI base knock while
Emily Blackwell picked up an RBI on a sac fly in the opening frame. NGU scored six more runs in the third and two more in the fourth frame to extend the lead. North Greenville pitching held the Bulls to just two hits in the shutout bid.
Gabrielle Badillo was 2 = 3 with two runs and an RBI to lead the offense.
Madison House was also 2 – 3 with a run and two RBI.
