Tigerville – North Greenville celebrated senior day with a pair of dominant wins over Barton College, upending the Bulldogs 6 – 1 and 5 – 0 at Jan McDonald Field.
The Trailblazers used the long ball in game one including two solo homers from seniors
Ali Hartin and
Virginia Bishop which gave NGU a 2 – 0 lead.
Emily Blackwell added to the lead with a single that scored a pair of runs in the second inning to extend the lead 4 – 0.
Maddie Stone added some insurance later on in the sixth inning with a two run blast that would bring around
Emily Dawson to make it 6 – 0.
A senior in the circle also turned in one of her best performances of the season.
Sydney Clark allowed just one run on five Bulldog hits. She earned the win and struckout two. Stone led NGU with a 3 – 3 performance with a game high two RBI and two runs scored.
Stone kept the bat hot in game two as she gave North Greenville a one run lead after two scoreless to start the game. It was her second home run of the day. The Trailblazers clung to a one run lead until fifth when they plated four to give themselves some breathing room.
Emily Dawson delivered a solo home run while
Emily Blackwell doubled to bring in a run.
Ali Hartin then delivered her second homer of the day, a two run blast to extend the lead to five.
Emily Blackwell had the hot bat in game two for NGU, going 3 – 3 with an RBI and a run. Hartin Finished both games 1 – 3 with a homer.
Kylie Rast shut the door on the Bulldogs, allowing just two hits in the shutout victory. She improved to 12 – 3 on the season.
