Tigerville – North Greenville women's lacrosse put its foot on the gas and kept it there on Saturday throttling Chowan 24 – 7 in conference action.
The game was tied 2 – 2 with five minutes left in the first quarter before North Greenville began to pull away from the Hawks. The Trailblazers scored seven goals in just under five minutes of game clock.
Lauren Crane and
Kami Straub both scored twice during the 7 – 0 stretch which made it 9 – 2 in favor of North Greenville.
North Greenville led by six at the break before holding the Hawks scoreless in the second half. NGU tacked on 10 – unanswered scores led by a pair of scores by
Erin Wheaton. Nine different players got in on the second half scoring as NGU improved to 2 – 1 in league play.
Isabella Ortiz and
Kami Straub led North Greenville in scoring with four goals each. Caroline Strider and
Lauren Crane each had three scores. As a team North Greenville had 15 caused turnovers led by Straub who had four.
Lauren Crane led all players with eight Draw Controls.
Tori Smith earned the win in the net and finished with two saves.
