Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Trailblazers had a successful afternoon at Jan McDonald Field, completing a sweep of the Lees-McRae Bobcats with final scores of 10-3 and 3-1. NGU began the day by scoring five runs in the 1st including a two-RBI triple by
Ansley Fowler and followed that up with five more runs in the 2nd including another two-RBI triple, this time by
Ari Day. The scoring would stop there for NGU as the Bobcats answered with a run in the 3rd and two runs in the 5th.
Kylie Rast took the win while
Sydney Clark pitched the final 4.0 innings to earn the save. Game two resulted in a complete game by
Karley Green. After a scoreless 1st, the Trailblazers took the lead with two runs in the 2nd including an RBI double by
Sydney Price.
Ari Day would hit her second triple of the day in the 3rd to drive in a run. Lees-McRae's only run came in the 5th inning, but Green would get out of trouble and went on to finish the game with the win.
Ari Day put together a solid afternoon, posting two triples and a double as well as four RBIs, three runs, and a walk.
Emily Blackwell finished her day with four hits, two runs, and a walk.
Karley Green pitched a complete game, allowing just one run on nine hits and a walk while recording one strikeout.
North Greenville will take on the Tornado of King University on Saturday, March 15th at Jan McDonald Field.
