Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders let out some frustration this afternoon in Murfreesboro, North Carolina, dominating the day and defeating the Hawks of Chowan University with a final score of 22-1. After a scoreless 1st, the Crusaders pulled away throughout the remainder of the early innings as well as the middle innings, scoring at least two runs in five consecutive innings. NGU would show off the power in the lineup in the 4th inning as Pat Monteith, Kaleb Hall, and Landon Shaw would all homer in the inning. Monteith would strike again in the 5th inning with his second home run of the game as part of a six run inning. The Crusaders would score four additional runs in the 6th before settling down with scoreless 7th and 8th innings. After the Crusaders were able to get one last run across the board, the Hawks ended the shutout with a solo home run in the bottom of the inning. Jake Monroe was the winning pitcher.

Pat Monteith went 3 for 5 at the plate with 2 home runs, 5 RBIs, and 3 runs scored. Kaleb Hall finished the day with 2 hits including a home run and a double, 3 RBIs, and 3 runs scored. Jake Monroe pitched 5.0 strong innings, allowing no runs and just 3 hits and a walk while striking out 5.

NGU and Chowan will return to action tomorrow in a doubleheader beginning at noon.
