Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders were victorious this afternoon at Pepsi Stadium, defeating the Valkyries of Converse University with a final score of 16-9 to advance to the semifinals of the Conference Carolinas Tournament. NGU trailed early as Converse took two of the first three goals. However, NGU would then take over the game with five of the next six goals to take a 6-3 lead at the end of the first. North Greenville scored the opening goal in the second quarter, but the Valkyries fought back with a three goal run to cut the deficit to one. The Crusaders would close out the half with two straight goals to open up the lead back to three at halftime. NGU dominated the third quarter, leading in shots and scoring four goals while shutting out the Valkyries in the quarter. The Valkyries were able to put up one last fight by scoring the first two goals of the fourth quarter, but the Crusaders would end any doubt by scoring three of the final four goals to comfortably hang on for the win.
