Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders finished off the week with a sweep over the Tigers of Benedict College with final scores of 12-0 and 14-7 this afternoon at Jan McDonald Field. NGU finished the day with a total of 26 runs and 31 hits. Game one saw the Crusaders score in every inning, eventually run ruling the Tigers in five innings.
Karley Green pitched all five innings and received the win, allowing just two hits and one walk. North Greenville jumped ahead of Benedict in game two, scoring a run in the first and three in the third. After the Tigers got on the board with a run in the third, the Crusaders responded of their own with a run in the bottom of the inning. North Greenville added another run in the fifth, but Benedict would come to life with six runs in the sixth inning. However, their lead would not last long as NGU responded with eight runs in the inning including an RBI triple by
Ali Hartin. Other than a walk,
Sydney Clark otherwise shut down the Tigers in the seventh inning to seal the win and the sweep.
