From Coach Stober
"This was a fun weekend for our team. We don't get the opportunity very often to do an overnight trip for two nights. Not to mention at the beach. It was a fun way to kick off our outdoor season. As for the meet itself, we had some solid individual performances.

On the women's side Riley Nicholson had a phenomenal weekend. On day one she ran a big lifetime PB in the 5K finishing third overall. Then she came back on day two to crush the school record in the 1500, in her first time ever running that event. She's worked really hard, and it showed in a big way this weekend. Both the 4x100 (Jada Wilson, JoAnn Smiling, Carleigh Vaughn, Tiara Cox) and the 4x200 (Tiara Cox, Hannah Hill, Carleigh Vaughn, JoAnn Smiling) finished first. Emma Bright ran a track PB in the 5K and a lifetime PB in the steeple chase. Hannah Hill (javelin throw) and JoAnn Smiling (long jump) both finished second in their respective field events. Rebekah Haddad and Paris Alsup both ran great in their first ever 10K on the track. Other PBs for the women include: Madeline Holsenback (discus throw), Carleigh Vaughn and Katlyn Rose (400 hurdles), Jada Wilson (200), and Christiana Gidney (3K).

For the men, Brandon Dugar had a big weekend. He ran a lifetime PB in both the 5K and 800. Our men's 4x200 (Jacobie Sims, Terrique Webb, Antavious Lawton, Josh White) finished first. Dylan Fortner and Damon Worley both had a great season opener in the javelin. We had a lot of success in the 10K as Hayden Goode won relatively easily, and both Izic Harris and Matthew Heath ran PBs. Jacobie Sims looked good in his first collegiate 400 hurdle race, finishing second. Eli Tipton (400) and Ryland Kowalski (1500) also ran PBs.

We've still got some work to do and a lot of folks that we need to get healthy. But we were able to walk away from this weekend with good memories, a school record, and a lot of personal bests."
