"I was really pleased with how our first race of the season went. We had a race plan for the first part of the race, and our team executed that race plan pretty well. We knew that we were going to be racing against some really good competition today…some of the top teams in our region were there. We ended up finishing top 5 for DII Southeast Region teams at today's race, and we were the top team from the Conference Carolinas on both the men's and women's side. I was really proud of how our team ran today. I think it was a good start to our season, and I look forward to seeing how we perform throughout the rest of the season…particularly when we get on some faster courses. This team has trained extremely hard all summer, and I believe they were able to see the fruit of their labor today. Time to get back to the grind and get ready for our next race in a couple of weeks."
