From Coach Stober
"Today was a good opportunity to preview the course that we will be running later this season for our conference championship. It was good to compete against some good teams not only within our conference, but also our region. Our team went into this race with a couple of harder weeks of training on their legs. We had a race plan to tempo the first mile and then move up from there. Most everyone executed that plan very well. I was pleased with how we ran today, but there is always room for improvement. I feel like our women ran particularly well considering it was their first 6K of the season. (Most of our women's team are freshmen, and I thought they ran their first ever 6K really well.) I look forward to next week when we will have to opportunity to go into the race a little fresher and run a faster course. I think next Friday will be a big indication as to where we are at as a team. There's no doubt that our team has trained hard all summer and all season up to this point. We know we are fit. Now it's time to put it together during a race. Hopefully we will have good conditions next Friday to get a clear idea of where we are really at."
