Crusaders Rally in 4th Quarter to Beat Southern Wesleyan

Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders put together a strong 4th quarter to defeat the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan University with a final score of 12-8 this afternoon at Pepsi Stadium. North Greenville took a 6-3 lead into halftime, but the Warriors came to life in the 3rd with four goals compared to just one by NGU to take the lead. From there, the Crusaders took back over with a 5-1 4th quarter to win by four goals. North Greenville led the way in shots 34-20 and dominated in draw controls 17-7 with Danielle LaPlume recording her 100th draw control for the season, a program record.

  • Dani O'Meara scored five goals for the second straight match. She also provided an assist, a ground ball, and a draw control.
  • Danielle LaPlume recorded eleven draw controls, surpassing the 100 mark for the season.
  • Kaitlin O'Brian had a solid match defensively, posting four ground balls, four draw controls, and three caused turnovers. She also scored a goal.

  • NGU will return to action in the Conference Carolinas Tournament, which will begin on Monday, April 25th. The Crusaders have clinched the #4 seed and will play at home.
