Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders split a conference series with the Trojans of the University of Mount Olive, who currently sit 2nd in the Conference Carolinas standings. NGU shut out the Trojans with a final score of 4-0 in game one before being shut out by the Trojans with a final score of 2-0 in game two. The first three innings went scoreless in both games.
Josie Reed put the Crusaders up front with an RBI double to left center that also scored an additional run due to an error. NGU would add two runs in the 6th by way of a wild pitch and a solo shot by
Brianna McRae.
Bailey Pace pitched a complete game shutout, allowing just five hits and two walks while striking out six. In game two, Mount Olive would get on the board with a two-run double to right center. North Greenville would load the bases in the 5th but would leave the bases loaded. UMO pitcher Hailey Kessinger would complete the shutout and earning the win.
