Tigerville, SC -
Morgan Hatchell made program history by pitching a no-hitter as the North Greenville Crusaders split a doubleheader with the Cobras of Coker University, dominating game one 9-0 then falling short in the second game 2-1 this afternoon at
Jan McDonald Field. Hatchell pitched five shutout innings, striking out six and walking five. NGU scored a total of ten runs off twelve hits and committed just one error throughout the afternoon. The Crusaders took an early 2-0 lead in game one including a solo shot by
Brianna McRae. After scoreless 2nd and 3rd innings, NGU pulled away further with four runs in the 4th inning. Then, the Crusaders would end up run ruling the Cobras by scoring three additional runs in the 5th. The bats were quieter in game two as Coker took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd and a 2-0 lead in the top of the 7th. NGU put up a fight in the final inning with a solo home run by
Claire Gilmore, but Coker would retire the next three batters to narrowly escape with a win.
