Crusaders Win Series With Doubleheader Split With Mississippi College

NGU baseball clinched its first series of the season this afternoon in Clinton, Mississippi. After taking yesterday's game, the two teams split a doubleheader with game one going to the Choctaws by a final score of 6-2 and the second game going to the Crusaders in extra innings with a final score of 9-8. MC scored two runs in the second inning then added another run in the 5th. The Crusaders would finally get on the board in the top of the 6th but the Choctaws responded in the bottom of the inning with three runs. North Greenville put one more run on the board in the 8th, but the Choctaws would go on to win by a comfortable margin. Game two proved to be a struggle for the Crusaders, who found themselves down 7-1 after four innings. However, NGU would cut into the deficit in the 5th and 6th, and would score the tying run in the 7th thanks to a home run by Jordan Holladay. In extra innings, the Crusaders would get the go-ahead run on the board. Tristen Hudson, who pitched the final three innings, shut things down with a three up, three down inning.
