Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders split a doubleheader this afternoon at
Jan McDonald Field with the Royals of Queens University, winning game one 7-1 and nearing a rally but ultimately falling 8-7. After three scoreless innings in the opening game, the Crusaders would dominate the remainder of the game, scoring all of their runs in just three innings including back to back homers by
Brianna McRae and
Josie Reed.
Bailey Pace would go on to pitch a complete game and allow just one run and three hits. North Greenville had a tougher time in game two, quickly facing a deficit as the Royals scored five runs in the 2nd inning. NGU put up a fight in the bottom of the 3rd, scoring three runs including a two-run double by Makenzie Livington. Queens went on to score two additional runs in the 4th to go up 7-3, but the Crusaders would once again respond with three runs in the bottom of the 5th. Both teams would get a run on the board in the 7th. With runners on first and second,
Claire Gilmore would hit a single in the gap, scoring
Madison Pride.
Lexis Wilkinson would also be sent around third, but would be tagged out at the plate to end the game.
Hailey Wells, the starting pitcher for NGU, took the loss.

- Brianna McRae posted four hits for the day including a home run and a double.
- Grayce Black also recorded a total of four hits as well as a run scored.
- Bailey Pace pitched a complete game, allowing just one run off of three hits and four walks. She struck out nine.
