Harrogate, TN – A late surge by the Railsplitters proved the difference on Saturday as the Crusaders dropped a 15-8 decision to Lincoln Memorial.
North Greenville trailed by just three goals at halftime after falling behind 5-2 after the first quarter.
Emma Mayew scored three first-half goals for the Crusaders. NGU trailed 9-4 with 7:26 left in the first half but scored three straight goals including a pair from Mayew and
Dani O'Meara's second goal of the first half to make it 9-7.
Lincoln Memorial tacked on a goal before the end of the second period to make it 10-7 at intermission.
The final goal of the second period was one of six unanswered scores from Lincoln Memorial that stretched the final two quarters of the game. The Railsplitters scored a pair in the third frame and three more in the fourth while holding NGU scoreless for 28-minutes.
North Greenville's only goal of the second half came from
Ainsley Woodham who scored in the fourth quarter with 1:09 left in the game.
Mayew and O'meara both finished with three goals each in the effort.
Lexi Menna tacked on one score and an assist.
Tori Smith finished the day with 11-saves.
