NGU Scores Twenty in Dominating Victory Over Chowan

Box Score The North Greenville Crusaders put together a dominating performance with a 20-2 victory over the Hawks of Chowan University in Murfreesboro, North Carolina. For the third time this season, the the Crusaders scored at least twenty goals in a game. NGU returns to a winning conference record, improving to 3-2 in conference and 3-6 overall. Dani O'Meara and Rachel Kellogg led the way with four goals each.

Recap
  • Less than a minute after the opening draw control, the Crusaders would get on the board with a goal by Dani O'Meara with an assist by Olivia Foltz. Those two would follow that up with a goal for each to increase the lead to three. Foltz and Rachel Kellogg would score two more goals to bring the score to 5-0 just five minutes into the match. NGU would continue to build onto the lead including three additional goals by Kellogg to run away with a 12-0 lead. Chowan would finally get on the board with a goal late in the half, but O'Meara would score the final goal of the half to give the Crusaders a 13-1 lead at halftime. All of NGU's 21 shots in the half were on goal.
  • The Hawks would start off the 2nd half with an early goal. However, that would be Chowan's final goal of the game as the Crusaders would dominate the remainder of the 2nd half. Just past ten minutes into the half, NGU would get going once again with a goal by Sydney Starkey and an assist by Kellogg. Emma Mayew, Olivia Foltz, Meagan Brennan, and Emily Zambrano would score goals while Danielle LaPlume would score two goals throughout the remainder of the half. Thirteen of NGU's fifteen shots in the 2nd half were on goal.
