Recap
  • With Elizabeth Engler getting the start on the mound, Benedict began the day with the lead due to a throwing error that allowed a run to score in the top of the 1st. However, this would be Benedict's only run of the game as the combination of Engler and Hailey Wells were effective in shutting down the Benedict lineup. The Crusaders would claim the lead in the bottom of the inning with a two-RBI double by Brianna McRae and an RBI double by Aschlyn Hutto. After three additional runs in the 3rd, NGU would blow the game open in the 4th by scoring four more runs including a two-RBI single by Aschlyn Hutto and an RBI single by Darbi Holmes. With Hailey Wells pitching a three up, three down 5th inning, the game would come to an early end due to the mercy rule.
  • Wells would return to the mound to begin game two. It wouldn't take long for the Crusaders to claim the lead as four runs would come across in the bottom of the 2nd thanks to two-RBI singles by both Grayce Black and Brianna McRae. Black would also collect an RBI single in the bottom of the 3rd. In the 4th, Brianna McRae would put the exclamation point on her productive day with a solo shot to center field. With NGU up by six, Emily Allen would end game two early due to the mercy rule with a two-RBI single to left field.
