NGU Ties Lees-McRae in Banner Elk

The North Greenville Crusaders and the Lees-McRae Bobcats ended in a 0-0 tie this evening in Banner Elk, North Carolina. North Greenville led the night in shots 24-13 with twelve of NGU's shots being on goal. However, both goalkeepers held up strong to keep both teams scoreless. The draw is NGU's fourth of the season.

Recap
  • Lees-McRae started off the match with three shots in the first twelve minutes. Lizzy Luzzi would save two of them.  Romee Contreras put up NGU's first shot of the match in the 18th minute, an on goal that would be saved. The Crusaders went on to lead the half in shots 9-6, but both would be held scoreless going into halftime.
  • North Greenville would be the one to be aggressive in the 2nd half, posting the first three shots of the half just over three minutes in. The Crusaders went on to lead the shot column in the second half as well with eleven, but once again the Lees-McRae defense held up strong to force overtime.
  • The Crusaders would post a total of four shots in overtime while limiting the Bobcats to just one, but ultimately a goal would not be found and the match would end in a draw.
