1st Quarter
The Crusaders came out with hot shooting taking an early 8 – 5 lead right before the first media timeout. Ayano Shelton (Junior) and Karen Donehew finished the ball exceptionally well inside off the dribble. Haylee Luttrell scored two timely layups at the end of the quarter to bring the Crusaders within four of the lead. Two early three-pointers from Barton along with some offensive rebounds/put backs gave Barton the lead at the end of the quarter.
2nd Quarter
In a boxing match-like quarter the Crusaders and Bulldogs traded blows back and forth each finishing the second quarter scoring 10 total points. The Crusaders were led by their leading scorer Karen Donehew who finished two layups and one of the only two three-pointers of the night for the Crusaders. Barton pushed the lead back to four points late in the quarter on a last second layup.
3rd Quarter
Coming out on a high note the Crusaders cut the lead to two points multiple times but could never take the lead over the Bulldogs. Both teams scored back and forth throughout the quarter with the Bulldogs taking advantage of multiple fouls by the Crusaders going perfect from the free throwline. Journey Muhammed (Freshman) made three free throws for the Crusaders at the 2:30 mark cutting the lead to three, but the Bulldogs ended the quarter scoring the last five points.
