Tigerville, S.C—Freshman forward Courtney Friddle registered her first career double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds, and Karly Stache went 3-for-5 from three-point range leading the Crusaders to a 77-59 win over Pfeiffer University, Saturday in Hayes Gymnasium.

Stache was 6-for-9 from the floor for 16 points, while Friddle’s 24 points marked a new career high. Friddle was 11-for-13 (84%) from the field. Alisha Hope also rattled in 10 points while Christina Carlis tallied a season high 10 assists. Krisceda Cotton led all players with 11 rebounds.

The Crusaders got off to a quick start in the first half scoring the first four points. The Falcons quickly evened the score and with six minutes left in the half, took a seven-point lead. Pfeiffer would take a three-point lead into intermission. The Crusaders shot just 35% from the field in the first half while Pfeiffer shot an impressive 63%.

In the second half, North Greenville flipped the script. The Crusaders shot 61% from the field (21-for-34), while Pfeiffer went cold, shooting just 30.3% (10-for-33). The Crusaders snatched the lead from the Falcons with 16:33 and would never relinquish it. North Greenville led by as many as 19 Saturday, on the way to an 18-point victory.

“I’m very proud of our team, and the way they played tonight,” remarked head coach Jayne Arledge. “I was really nice having a team running on all cylinders, especially in the second half.”

The Crusaders are now 8-1 in conference play, and 13-4 overall. NGU’s next game will be on January 26, when they take on Belmont Abbey (3-3) at home.
