Men's tennis picks up first victory of the spring

Greer, S.C. – The North Greenville men’s tennis team earned its first victory of the spring with a 5-4 win over Lincoln Memorial University on Saturday.

"This was a very good win for us," said head coach Mark Elliot. "Lincoln Memorial won the South Atlantic Conference last season and I'm happy we could get a win today."

Kesha Sedov and Fred Vieira got the Crusaders on the board first with a victory in #2 doubles and Thomas Clack and Marcos Souza picked up another point for North Greenville with a victory in #3 doubles.

After Vieira and Sedov each won their singles matches, the score was tied at 4-4. Souza picked up his game and made plays when the team needed him the most as he came back from a deep hole and defeated his singles opponent to lead North Greenville to the one point victory.

The Crusaders will look to put together two wins a row as they host Mars Hill College on Feb. 15 at 1 p.m.
