Men's tennis opens 2011 with a loss

Bristol, TN – The North Greenville men’s team was unable to start the 2011 portion of its schedule off the right way as the team dropped its first match of the spring 5-4 to Catawba.

In the doubles portion of the match, Kesha Sedov and Fred Vieira teamed up in the #2 match to defeat King 8-6, while Thomas Clack and Marcos Souza won their doubles match 8-5.

In singles, Timur Kamilov showed why he is the #1 men’s player as he defeated his opponent 2-0. Sedov finished his day with a 4-3 victory in singles and Souza also won his singles match 4-2.

The team’s next match will be on Feb. 11 against Lander University in Greer, S.C. at 2:30 p.m.
