NGU Comeback Falls Short In Loss to King

Bristol, TN - NGU fell short of a comeback with a 2-1 loss to the King Tornado in Bristol, Tennessee. Will Moy scored the lone goal for the Crusaders.

1st Half

Zach Baker put up the first shot of the match, but King found the back of the net first when King's Jairo Ruiz Caram scored his first goal of the season. His first shot bounced off a North Greenville defender, but he rebounded the ball and scored on his second shot. The Tornado connected for a second goal when Ben Delisle scored his third goal of the season with an assist by Jairo Ruiz Caram. King led in shots with 11 while NGU put up 7.

2nd Half

The Crusaders would finally get on the board with 22 minutes remaining in the match when Will Moy scored his third goal of the season. He was assisted by Jake Quinn. NGU would have several opportunities throughout the remainder of the half including a good look by Gareth Greene, but several wide shots as well as some key saves by King's Dalton Gammon preserved the win for the Tornado.


Zach Baker collected 5 shots with one on goal.

Will Moy scored the only goal for the Crusaders.

Gareth Greene shot 3 times with 2 on goal.


North Greenville returns to action Saturday, October 6th against the Chowan Hawks in Tigerville.
