North Greenville Comes Up Short Against Lions

NGU fell to the Emmanuel Lions 2-1 on a rainy night in Tigerville. The Crusaders scored the first goal of the match early in the 1st half, but Emmanuel would eventually break through with two goals to take the victory. North Greenville now holds a 1-2-1 record in conference play.

1st Half

In the 5th minute, North Greenville struck first when James Segovia scored his first goal of the season and was assisted by Nick Roberson. The NGU lead would last for around twelve minutes until Emmanuel's Channing Park connected for his second goal of the season to tie the match. Emmanuel would lead the first half in shots with nine.

2nd Half

Both teams came up empty early in the second half. However, EC's Will Fraser-Gray converted on a header shot for a goal to put Emmanuel up 2-1. North Greenville put up a shot in the final minute of the match, but the Lions were able to hang on to win. Both teams were charged with two yellow cards each. Emmanuel led the second half in shots 8-5.


Gareth Greene collected 3 shots with 1 on goal.

James Segovia made the most out of his 1 shot with his first goal of the season.

Noah Kendrick saved 4 and allowed 2 goals.
