Anderson, S.C.-
On Friday the North Greenville men’s soccer team traveled to Anderson, South Carolina to take on Anderson University.

The Crusaders last two matches were polar opposites of each other as the game against Southern Wesleyan ended in a tie after two overtimes and the game against Tennessee Temple was a blow out as the Crusaders netted a school record 15 goals defeating Temple 15-1. The game against Anderson would take two overtimes to decide as Anderson would win the close match 3-2.
The Crusaders trailed 1-0 early in the second after Trojans took the lead on a goal 7 minutes in. The Crusaders would tie it up in the 55th minute with a goal from Seth Snyder. North Greenville took the lead 2-1 in the 75th minute on a header from Jonathan Restrepo. Anderson tied the game with 6 minutes left in regulation sending the game into overtime. The score remained 2-2 with 5 minutes left in the second and final overtime until Anderson took the victory scoring on a golden goal.
“It was a tough game to lose” said head coach Chad Gfeller, “the team played well. We just have to forget about it and get ready for the next game.”  The next game for the Crusaders will be a home match against Warren Wilson College on October 6th at 7pm.
