Crusaders dominate LMU for first win

Tigerville – North Greenville earned its first win of the season in convincing fashion on Saturday powering past Lincoln Memorial 10-2 in Pepsi Stadium.

Gunnar Wilson got the scoring started with an early goal that put North Greenville on top 1-0. The goal at 7:11 was quickly reconciled as the Railsplitters turned in their first score of the game two minutes later, equaling the tally at one at the 5:11-mark of the first quarter.

The Crusaders would take over from there scoring seven unanswered times, a streak which extended into the second half. Willson would score twice more in that period while Austin Zumbado registered a hattrick with three consecutive goals, the third of which made it 7-1.

Nolan Drop added an eighth goal for the Crusaders before the Railsplitters were able to tally their second score of the game that made it 8-2 with 2:04 left in the game. A score from Thomas Cecere and Wilson’s game high fourth goal of the day put the final touches on NGU’s first win of the season.

Zumbado finished the afternoon with a set of scores along with scores from Taylor Lanzillo, Cecere, and Drop. North Greenville got solid performance from Braeden Dixon who earned his first win of the season in the net, registering 17-saves on 19-shots. Colin Courtney led the defense with four turnovers caused and four groundballs.

North Greenville’s next showing will be in Tampa, Florida against the University of Tampa.
