Men's Lacrosse announces team captains for 2018 campaign

Tigerville, S.C. -- North Greenville head coach Corey Struss has named four captains for the 2018 lacrosse season.

#1 - Hunter Burgett

“Hunter is our first four-year contributor that has the privilege of being named captain for his Senior season.  In his freshman year, he won our first ever ‘Unsung Hero’ award, and I knew he had what it takes to emerge as a fine leader.  He embraces his role as a senior, an example, a tireless worker, and a great teammate.  I am pleased that his teammates have recognized these attributes.”

#3 - Sky Dupree

“Sky has become a second set of critical eyes on the defensive side of the ball, and his teammates benefit from this.  He goes out of his way to show that he values his teammates, and his work ethic is second to none.  I don’t believe there has been a semester where he hasn’t exceeded expectations in the classroom.  He embodies what it takes to be a student-athlete at this level, and challenges the guys around him to do likewise.”

#6 - Alex Proly

“Alex is a guy that never takes a rep off, and his teammates thrive off of the example he sets.  I’m excited to see him continue to grow as a leader, and it is great that his teammates and our coaching staff can see the potential in him to shape others around him.”

#31 - Chris Carpenter

“Chris has emerged in the fall as someone that our young guys can emulate.  He works extremely hard in the classroom, on the field, before/after practice, and also in his relationships with his teammates.  He has invested himself into this team completely, and although he has had a few injuries along the way, we know that he has and will be an absolute credit to what the culture of our program has become.”

The Crusaders' season opener is scheduled for February 7th against Shorter College in Rome Georgia. NGU will open at home on February 10th against Coker College.
