Howey-in-the-Hills, FL - North Greenville's first day on the track at the South/Southeast Regional resulted in a 16th place finish for the Crusaders after shooting a combined 312 as a team.
Austin Duncan was NGU's best finisher after the first 18-holes, carding a 76 for the day, good enough for a tie for 38th. Duncan's first round saw four holes with an over-par finish, but the sophomore penciled in an eagle and one birdie to keep pace. The eagle came on the 14th hole, a 532-yard par five with the birdie coming on the front nine.
Seth Robertson and Alex Parker played identical rounds as both finished with a 78 on the opening 18. The score puts them in a tie for 59th. Rounding out the scores for the Crusaders is Evans Lewis who shot an 80 and finished in a tie for 81st while Josiah Ledford was four strokes behind Lewis and finished in a tie for 104th.
Lincoln Memorial currently leads the field, carding a team total 285 with two players tied for first, shooting a 69, individually. Lynn and West Florida finished with team totals of 288 while Clayton State and Columbus State round out the top five with scores of 297 and 298, respectively.
Round two will start on Friday morning at 7:30 AM.
