Country Club of Salisbury – North Greenville men’s golf continued its early spring success this week with a third place finish at the Richard Rendleman Invitational hosted by Catawba College.

Lincoln Memorial and Queens University brought home first and second place while Coker College finished tied for third with the Crusaders. This week’s finish is the second top three finish for North Greenville and sixth top 10-finish of the season dating back to September.

North Greenville had three players inside the top-10 including Seth Robertson and Christian Constance who finished in a tie for fifth place. Evan Gfeller rounded out the top finishers for NGU with a seventh place finish.

Robertson turned in North Greenville’s best score on Tuesday as he carded a 70. The day two result was a three-stroke improvement for the sophomore who shot a 73 in the opening round for a two-day total of 143.

Christian Constance finished the week with the same two-day total of 143 as Robertson. Constance added a little excitement to his first round score though as he knocked in a hole in one on the par-3 14th, the only one of the tournament at that hole. Constance shot a 71 on the first day and followed it up with a 72 on day two. His hole-in-one came from a 193-yards out with a seven iron.

Evan Gfeller had another solid performance this week with a seventh place finish. Gfeller equaled Constance, carding a 71 in the first round of the tournament. He Added a few strokes on day two however as he finished with a 74 for a two day total of 145.

Christian Dibert wrapped up his second tournament of the season with a 31st place finish while Cole Hargett finished the week in 56th. Dibert shot a 77 on day one and a 75 on day two for a total of 152. Hargett was NGU’s biggest mover of the week as he improved nine strokes from day one to day two. Hargett shot an 84 in the first round, but carded a 75 on the second day for a two-day total of 159.

The Crusaders next tournament is scheduled for March 6th but the team wont have to travel very far. NGU will play in the Southern Tide Classic at the Green Valley Country Club in Greenville, South Carolina.
