North Greenville began its 2019 season with a 4th place finish out of seven teams in the Eye Opener. Originally schedule for Friday evening, the event was rescheduled for earlier today due to rain. Included in the meet were three NCAA Division I teams, three NCAA Division II teams, and one Community College program.
Victor Shellhammer was the top NGU finisher with a time of 27:35.7 for an 18th place finish. His finish was the best of the DII programs. Four spots behind him was Jacob Holcombe with a time of 28:01.0 for 22nd place. Clay Knight was the next Crusader to finish, posting a time of 29:15.6 for 34th place. Thomas Campbell took 41st place with a time of 29:54.6. Rounding out the top five North Greenville partipants was Jonathan Keller with a time of 30:14.3 for 44th place.
The rest of the NGU field consisted of Jordan Griffiths with a 46th place finish, Amir McCall with a 47th place finish, and Weston Stokes with a 52nd place finish.
North Greenville will return to action at the Wingate Bulldog Stampede on Saturday, September 21st in Wingate, North Carolina.
