Tigerville - North Greenville relief pitcher Kipp Rollings is the first NGU baseball player to come off the board this week after being selected in the 24th round by the Mariners of Seattle, Washington.
Rollings was the top reliever for the Crusaders this season, making 24-appearances over the course of the 2019 schedule. Rollings amassed 35.1 innings of work, allowing just 12 earned runs during that time. Opponents had just 39 hits off of the senior and had just a .275 batting average against the righty. Rollings faced 142-batters this season, striking out 35 of those batters.
His numbers were just as strong in 2018, appearing in 23-games, tossing 40.1 innings during that time. In 2018, Rollings struck out 42-batters and finished with just a 1.34 earned run average. He surrendered just 30-hits and just six earned runs in 146-batters faced.
Kipp Rollings is the sixth player drafted since 2015 and the second pitcher.
