Baseball splits at Pfeiffer

MISENHEIMER, NC--North Greenville University won one of two games at Pfeiffer University over the weekend. The third game of the series was rained out. Pfeiffer won Friday's game 5-4, while NGU took Saturday's 8-2. NGU is now 3-22-1 on the season.

Eric Iglesias picked up the win for the Crusaders on Saturday. Iglesias pitched two and two thirds innings, giving up two hits and striking out four.

Curt Marshall put North Greenville on top early with a 3-run home run.

In the second inning, NGU added two more runs as Chase Pope and Dayton Lupton scored when Randy Stegall reached on an error by the shortstop.

The Crusaders kept rolling in the sixth inning, adding three more runs. Dayton Lupton scored on a Stegall single. Then, Josh Hohn hit a two-run homer.

Pfeiffer scored one run in each of the sixth and seventh innings.

NGU returns to action Wednesday at 1:00 at Ashmore Field against St. Andrews Presbyterian College.
