The North Greenville Women's Volleyball program comes off its 5th consecutive winning season in 2018. Finishing the season with an overall record of 18-12 and a conference record of 10-5, the Crusaders are expected to be in the mix of a competitive 2019 season with a 5th place vote in the 2019 Conference Carolinas Women’s Volleyball Preseason Poll. The selection puts NGU in a 3rd place prediction in the West Division. 2019 will feature a number of key returners, but also a considerable number of new faces that the Crusaders will rely on.
Paige Beisecker put together a memorable freshman campaign in 2018, posting 148 kills and averaging 1.72 kills per set. She led the team in attack percentage with .278 and improved that number even further in conference play with .288. Her performance earned her a Second-Team All-Conference Carolinas selection. Although she will have to do it without her sister and former Crusader Annie Beisecker, Paige will look to continue to lead the charge for NGU as a sophomore.
Katie McManaway had another solid season in 2018, averaging over 2 kills per set and recording a total of 223 kills. She did lead the team with 670 total attacks and proved to be durable, playing in over 100 sets throughout the season.
Emma Pepper was solid as a middle blocker last season, posting 127 kills and averging 1.57 kills per set. She finished third on the team in attack percentage with .232, and will be called upon to continute to be as reliable in 2019.
Eaden Shockley brings much needed experience at the setter position. In 2018, she posted a team-leading 548 assists and averaged 5.12 per set. She also proved to be effective as a server, recording 20 service aces.
