Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Crusaders fell to the Emmanuel Lions for the second time this season with a final score of 3-0. Katie McManaway led the night with 31 total attacks. Even with the loss, the Crusaders remain in 3rd place in the Conference Carolinas South Division.
NGU began the match with a quick 4-1 lead that included two kills by McManaway. A 7-2 run by the Lions would put them ahead 9-6. From there, neither team would be able to separate themselves for the remainder of the set. An extra point would be required before Emmanuel was finally able to put the opening set to rest.
A very competitive second set would see several ties throughout. NGU led early on, but Emmanuel came back to even things up 9-9. Both teams would trade the lead before the Lions ended the set on an 8-1 run to win 25-20.
Neither team was able to go on a run early on in the third set. Emmanuel led early, but the Crusaders came back to tie the set 8-8. From there, EC was able to dominate the remainder of the set with a 17-8 run, taking the set 25-16 and putting the match to rest.
Katie McManaway had an impressive match with 10 kills, 31 total attacks, 3 service aces, and 4 digs.
Annie Beisecker recorded 8 kills and 0 errors for a .533 attack percentage.
Eaden Shockley provided 17 assists and 5 digs.
NGU will return to action tomorrow against the Erskine Flying Fleet in Tigerville on Homecoming.
