The 2018 Women's Volleyball program began the season with dominating 3-0 wins over Virginia State University and Elizabeth City State University in Ettrick, Virginia. With the wins, the Crusaders have begun three out of the last four seasons with two consecutive victories to begin the season.
Set 1 was fairly one-sided for NGU early on, but the Trojans of Virginia State fought back to make the set fairly competitive. North Greenville ultimately took the set 25-20.
Set 2 was never in doubt. The Crusaders dominated to win the set 25-10.
Set 3 saw an early lead by VSU, but NGU quickly battled back to even the score halfway through the set. North Greenville eventually took the lead and never looked back, taking the set 25-23 and sweeping the match.
Courtney Williamson had a productive start to her senior season with 34 total attacks and 10 kills. She also produced defensively with 11 digs and 2 block assists.
Whitley Kahler was successful in her collegiate debut at the libero position, recording 16 digs.
Annie Beisecker recorded 16 total attacks and 8 kills to begin her senior campaign.
Set 1 saw North Greenville quickly pull away and never look back, taking the set 25-11.
Set 2 began with an early lead by ECSU, but the Crusaders quickly caught up and eventually pulled away to win the set 25-13.
Set 3 was dominated from the start by North Greenville, ending with a 25-9 win to clinch the match.
Erin Allen made quite an impact throughout the match, recording 12 total attacks and leading the team in kills with 7.
Annie Beisecker had another strong performance, this time with 14 total attacks and 5 kills.
Katie McManaway was productive in game 2 with 4 kills and 8 total attacks.
North Greenville will look to sweep the Virginia State Tournament tomorrow beginning at 10:00 am against Concord University. The Crusaders will then turn around and play the King Tornado in a rare nonconference matchup between the two teams at noon.
