HIGH POINT, N.C.- Kenzie Pierce was named to the Conference Carolinas All-Conference Frist Team, being only the second Crusader to earn First Team honors. Sara Miller and Samantha Hebb were both named to the Conference Carolinas Third Team. All-Conference teams were voted on by the Conference Carolinas coaches, and only stats during conference play were considered.
Pierce finished the regular season with a total of 148-kills in conference play, coming in at 13th in the conference. She was also 6th in the conference with a .262 hitting percentage. Pierce was ranked 9th in points and points per set while being ranked 11th in kills and kills per set.
Head Coach Greg Mosely on Pierce: “Kenzie is one of those special players that every coach would like to have every year. A six-rotation player with versatility possessing a high volleyball I️. Q. But most importantly, a willingness to do whatever to make the team better. Well deserving of her 1st team selection!”
Sara Miller led the conference with a total of 604 assists in conference play and came in at second with 10.41 assists per set. Miller also had 164 digs for the season.
Mosely on Miller: “I️ am so very proud of Sara! Coming off an injury-riddled year, the work this young lady poured into getting back in volleyball shape in order to lead this team from the setting position was inspiring. She has been a leader on and off the court and has earned the respect of her teammates!”
Samantha Hebb had 162-kills, coming in at 9th in the conference, to go along with 3.18 kills per set and 7th in the conference. She had a total of 171.5 points and 3.4 points per set, ranking 11th and 10th respectfully.
Mosely on Hebb: “Sam’s strength is her versatility as a hitter. She was able to produce from multiple front row positions for us at key times during our season. Her big swing contributed greatly to our success this year. “
Pierce, Miller, Hebb, and the rest of the Crusaders take on Belmont Abbey tonight at 5:00 pm in the Conference Carolinas semi-finals hosted by Barton College.
