Crusaders lose to King in conference volleyball

Bristol, TN—North Greenville wrapped up a busy week of volleyball action on Saturday with a 3-1 loss to King University.

NGU finished with 34-kills as a team with 21-errors. Kenzie Pierce led the charge with 10-kills on the night and two service aces. She also added two assisted blocks. Madison Pogue dished out 30-assists and led the Crusaders with four service aces, she also added 11-digs. Ashlyn Wilkinson led the defense with 15-digs while Annmarie Johnston added four solo blocks.

The Tornado dominated the first set taking a 25-8 win over the Crusaders. NGU would bounce back in the second frame though to grab a 25-22 win and even the set score at 1-1. The Tornado would go on to take the next two sets over the Crusaders with a pair of 25-22 wins to earn the Conference Carolinas victory.

North Greenville fell to 11-5 on the season and 3-3 in league play. The Crusaders will host Limestone College on Tuesday night at 7pm in Hayes Gymnasium.
