Due West, S.C.—The NGU Women's Volleyball Team fell victim to the Conference Carolinas leader on Friday night as Erskine earned a 3-0 win over the Crusaders.
The Crusaders are now 7-5 in league play while Erskine is now 12-0. The Crusaders struggled offensively as they were able to muster just 25 kills on 104 attempts. North Greenville also committed 20 errors on the night and hit just .048 as a team.
NGU trailed by six in the first set but battled back to cut the deficit to three (21-18). The Fleet, which had their best offensive showing of the night, hitting .480 with 15 kills, finished off the first frame win with a 4-1 run that gave them a 25-19 win.
The Crusaders would battle in the final two sets but the Fleet took wins of 25-15 and 25-12. Yomi Adeyeye had a team high nine kills while Taylor Dupes finished with four. Dupes led the team in digs with seven while Madison Pogue had 22 assists. Dupes, Pogue, and Laiken Porterfield each had a service ace for the Crusaders.
North Greenville will travel to Emmanuel College tomorrow for a Saturday afternoon contest with the Lions in Franklin Springs Georgia at 2pm.
