The Crusader Women's Volleyball team headed to Columbia, S.C. and won its seventh game of the season in a 3-0 victory over the Benedict College Tigers.
In the opening set, the Crusaders took an early lead and never looked back. After the Tigers evened up the score at one apiece, the Crusaders would win six straight and never let the Tigers within three points, winning 25-14. The second set would be much tighter, as the teams would trade points back and forth for most of the frame before the Crusaders took over, winning 25-22. In the third set, the teams traded points before North Greenville took seven straight to take the lead in the set 10-3. North Greenville cruised to a 25-16 victory from there to seal off the win.
Sophomore Kenzie Pierce led the team in kills with 10, followed by senior Taylor Dupes with eight and junior Sommer Cagle with seven. Senior Hannah Lewis led the team with 17 digs and junior Madison Pogue led with 36 assists. North Greenville improved its record to 7-5 on the season with this nonconference win.
The Crusaders return to the court in Laurinburg, N.C. to take on the Saint Andrews University Knights on the 24th. The game will start at 7 p.m.
