Spartanburg, S.C.—The North Greenville Volleyball Team got itself back on track Tuesday night with a 3-0 win over Converse College in the first Conference Carolinas match of the season.

The Crusaders eased into Tuesday night's match with a 25-14 win in the opening frame. NGU pulled away with 6-1 run to take a 16-10 lead. Three consecutive kills from Yomi Adeyeye, Taylor Dupes, and Hannah Lewis would put the game away for the Crusaders.

The Crusaders earned a quick 2-0 lead in the set count after cruising to 25-10 win in set two. The Valkyries would fight back in the third set however, scoring five unanswered to even the score at 24-24. North Greenville would prevail though scoring three of the next four to win the third set 27-25, earning the 3-0 conference opening victory.

Taylor Dupes led NGU with 14 kills while Adeyeye had 12. NGU's service game played a key role in NGU's victory as the Crusaders finished with eight as a team. Megan Steading and Adeyeye both had two each. Hannah Lewis led with 18 digs while Megan Gouge, Kenzie Pierce, and Adeyeye all had two blocks.

The Crusaders will play their first match at home on September 18th when they take on Lees-McRae at 7pm in Hayes Gymnasium.
