Lake Wales, Fla. - The North Greenville women's volleyball team moved on to the NCCAA South Regional championship game on Friday morning, after a 3-2 win over regional host Warner University.
The Crusaders used a come from behind victory in set one to take an early l-0 lead over the home standing Royals. The 31-29 win over Warner came on the heels of a four point comeback by the Crusaders. NGU tied the game at 24-24 to force extra points in which the Crusaders took the win on a block from Brooke Stowell and Rachel Burts, and a Royals error.
The Crusaders would fall in set two 25-14, before rebounding to regain the set lead 2-1. The Royals forced the fifth and decisive set after taking 25-21 comeback win of their own in the fourth set. The Crusaders never trailed in the final set of the day, leading by as many as five. NGU finished the Royals off on another error from Warner.
Yomi Adeyeye led NGU's offensive charge with 22 kills on 42 total attempts. Taylor Dupes also had double digits with 14 kills while Burts had 13. Hannah Lewis had two services aces with 26 digs to lead NGU while Elizabeth James had 32 assists.
North Greenville will play the winner of Southern Wesleyan and Emmanuel College in the championship game tomorrow at 9am.
