Tigerville, S.C. - The North Greenville women's volleyball team earned its fourth Conference Carolinas win of the season on Friday night, taking a 3-0 decision over the University of Mount Olive on Senior Night in Hayes Gymnasium.
Head coach Greg Mosely honord the lone senior Elizabeth James before Friday night's game. The Crusaders were led in kills by Yomi Adeyeye with 12 on the match. The lone senior Elizabeth James had three kills, thirteen assists, 17 digs, and two block assists on the night. The Crusaders improved their overall record to 17-12 and in conference 4-8 with one match remaining on November 8, 2014 here at North Greenville University.
In the first set of the Crusaders women's volleyball match the Crusaders went out to an early 3-0 lead. The Mount Olive Trojans would come back to tie the score with a three to nothing run of their own. Later in the set the Crusaders would take a 19-12 lead. The Crusaders would maintain a strong lead though, earning the 25-17 win.
The Crusaders would take an early 6-4 lead over UMO in set two. The Crusaders would extend its lead to 17-6 midway through, but Mount Olive had no plans of laying down. The Trojans would snap off a 5-1 run to make it 18-11, but the comeback bid would come up short as NGU would take the set 25-15.
In the third set the Trojans would go out to an early 6-2 lead over the Crusaders. After taking an early timeout the Crusaders would rally making the score even at 6-6. The Trojans would come back to make their own rally taking the lead 13-7. The Crusaders would make their second rally of the set after a much needed timeout making the score 16-16 making the Trojans take their first timeout of the set. The Crusaders would win the match clinching third set with a close score of 25-20.
