North Paulding High School senior Taylor Dupes has signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball at North Greenville University for the 2012-2013 season.
The outside hitter from Dallas, GA was a pivotal tool in leading her team to a 46-5 overall record, including a 11-0 record in league play, including a 40-game win-streak in 2011 which is the second longest such streak in Georgia state history.
In three years as a varsity player, Dupes led her team to a 105-32 overall record and one area championship. Dupes was named 1st Team All-Tournament in two of the three tournaments her team competed in as well as team MVP, while leading North Paulding to three straight state playoff appearances, including the team's first playoff win in school history.
Statistically speaking, in 2011 Dupes set a county record for kills in a single season with 258, while also setting a county record with 13 kills in a single game as she showed versatility seeing significant time playing on both the front and back lines. Dupes' other statistics for 2011 include 186 digs, 48 serve aces with a .900 serving percentage and a kill percentage of .293.
In addition to her athletic prowess, Dupes comes to North Greenville University as a decorated recruit, having recently been honored as North Paulding High School Female Athlete of the Year, County Player of the Year and an All-Area First Team selection. Dupes' leadership ability is evident in being chosen as a team captain three sperate times between her club and high school teams in 2010-2011.
Although she was persued by several schools, playing for head coach Greg Mosely was an easy decision. "Everything about NGU just felt right," said Dupes.
Dupes is excited to become a member of the Crusader athletic program and plans on majoring in communications while at North Greenville.
